Prepositions - key patterns

• Time: at 6 pm, on Monday, in July
• Place: at the station, on the table, in the room
• Movement: to, into, onto, through

Articles - quick rules

• a/an for non-specific singular noun (a book, an apple)
• the for specific noun (the book on the desk)
• No article with plural/general nouns in broad sense (Books are useful)

Common trap

Wrong: He is in the hospital as a visitor (in Indian exam context, often accepted)
Better standard context handling: distinguish as patient vs as visitor by sentence meaning.

In objective exams, focus on the option that matches standard school grammar usage.

Take any short paragraph from school English text and:

1. remove all prepositions/articles,
2. refill them without looking,
3. compare with original.
