The UPSC application is for a common written examination, but the choices inside it are not identical. Candidates indicate the services/courses for which they wish to be considered and place them in order of preference.
Final allocation is based on eligibility, medical fitness, combined merit, available vacancies, and your preference order. A preference does not guarantee that branch, and allocation to one service/course removes the candidate from consideration for the remaining lower preferences.

NDA is one route, not every route
The Armed Forces also advertise other entries at different education levels, such as the Army Technical Entry Scheme, Navy 10+2 B.Tech Cadet Entry, CDS, AFCAT, NCC Special Entry, and service-specific graduate or technical entries. Their age limits, gender eligibility, shortlisting methods, and commission types are separate from NDA.
Apply only through an official UPSC or service recruitment portal; no private website can guarantee selection.
